Richard E. ("Rick") Wylie, C.P.A.

Richard “Rick” Wylie, a native born Texan who grew up in Irving, Texas is the second of three generations of CPAs serving the profession of public accounting. Rick served in the United States Army Field Artillery from April 1972 to April 1975 as a Chief of Section in Battery A of the 1st and 41st Field Artillery Battalion and later served in the Texas National Guard 49th Armored Division as a tank commander. Rick worked in the mortgage loan business for two years while attending college at the University of Texas at Arlington (“UTA”). Upon graduation from UTA in 1978 Rick went to work for Coopers & Lybrand (now Pricewaterhouse Coopers) where he worked in audit and assurance auditing banks, savings and loans, and mortgage companies.

Rick started a private practice of public accounting in 1984, consisting primarily of tax and business consulting for manufacturing and service businesses. Over the years, Rick has developed substantial experience in the field of forensic accounting, investigative work, and litigation support. Rick is active in various church and civic organizations and is the founder and Executive Director of Texas Friendship Ministries a Texas Nonprofit Corporation that provides ministerial and Christian education programs to benefit mentally and physically disabled persons. Rick is also a musician and has served as director of music for various churches over the past 16 years. Rick’s hobbies include muscle car restorations and drag boat racing.

 
     
 

David M. Hagen, C.P.A. & CM&AA

A veteran of PricewaterhouseCoopers and former partner at both Grant Thornton, International and New York-based forensic accounting and business valuations firm, Evans Hagen & Company. He has also served as author and editor of many standard industry texts – such as Guide to Mergers and Acquisitions – issued by the Practitioners Publishing Company ("PPC") as well as the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants ("AICPA"). He is a former instructor for the AICPA in its continuing professional education program and sits on the board of several local companies. Mr. Hagen has also served as CFO of a publically traded telecommunications company.

Mr. Hagen attended the United States Naval Academy and Michigan State University ("MSU"). He earned a BA degree in Accounting and performed postgraduate work at MSU, Eastern Michigan University and The University of Texas at Arlington. He also is accredited as a Certified Merger and Aquisition Advisor.

 
 
 

Kent L. Sharp, C.P.A.

Kent L. Sharp has been in the accounting business for over 35 years.  He has been with HMSW CPA and its predecessor firms for approximately 20 years.  Mr. Sharp started his career with the international public accounting firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers and subsequently held positions in industry before returning to public practice.  Mr. Sharp is a certified public accountant with significant backgrounds, both tax and audit, in manufacturing, construction, employee benefit plans and various service related entities

Mr. Sharp received his BBA in Accounting at University of Texas in Arlington.  He attended college on a full athletic scholarship.  Mr. Sharp earned four varsity football letters, while attaining All-Conference honors in 1979, and Academic All-Conference honors in 1978 and 1979. 

 
 
 

Cheree D. Bishop, CPA

Cheree has over 15 years of public accounting experience.  Prior to joining HMSW, she was an Audit Manager at Deloitte & Touche LLP.  Her practice experience includes audit, assurance & enterprise risk services for multinational, public and private companies and private equity portfolio companies.  Industry practice areas include manufacturing, aerospace & defense, construction, real estate, HOAs, telecommunications, oil & gas, and employee benefit plans. Cheree has also served as Manager of Continuing Education for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as a technical manager and author in the areas of financial statement compilations and reviews, internal controls, IFRS, and various other topics involving financial reporting standards. Cheree is a CPA, licensed in Texas, and has a MSA (Master’s of Science in Accounting) and a BBA in Accounting from the University of Texas at Arlington.

 
 
 

Stephanie Flurry

Stephanie has been a practicing accountant for over 20 years, and has been with HMSW and its predecessor firms for over 8 years.  She has significant experience with QuickBooks and general accounting functions in addition to payroll and 401k administration.  Stephanie also prepares and assists with the compilation of financial statements as well as the preparation of corporate and personal income tax returns.

 
     
 

Christine Crippen

Chris has been with HMSW and its predecessor firms for over 7 years, and has been a practicing accountant for over 20 years.  She has significant experience with QuickBooks and general accounting functions.  Chris assists clients with all functions of their payroll administration as well as preparation and compilation of financial statements for both businesses and individuals.  She also assists with the preparation of corporate and personal tax returns.
